Ina Leona Cohn Abo was born in the Bronx in 1922. She attended CCNY where she met Norman Abo. She leaves behind two children, Elyse Zuckerman and Martin Abo. She has four grandchildren: Jodi Markowsky, Amy Moll, Benjamin Abo and Zach Abo. She has five great grandchildren: Jacob and Rebecca Markowsky and Ari, Simon and Jack Moll. She also left behind Alan Zuckerman and Jane Abo, Donald Markowsky and Jason Moll. Some of the wonderful, humanitarian and altruistic acts of kindness include driving blind people; introducing Jewish services at the A. Holly Patterson Home over 40 years; Girl Scout leader and den mother; President of Sisterhood and active in Women's League for decades; sang in the Beth Israel choir for 25 years and performed with a Gilbert and Sullivan Workshop and was in many B'nai B'rith shows. She was very deserving of the Humanitarian Award she received from the Mid-Nassau Jewish Community Council. Her hobbies were singing (she also wrote many parodies), dancing, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. Her family always referred to her as the "Heileger One" - the Blessed One. What a role model and legacy she was to all of us. Ina Leona Cohn Abo will always live on through us. L'chayim, Ina!
