כ"ח אייר תשע"ז

Rose met her husband, George, at a Bnei Brit Hillel dance became a captain in the Air Force they married on May 24, 1942, and they traveled around the country until he was sent to the South Pacific where he remained until the conclusion of World War II.
Upon his return, they lived in Brooklyn, where their son Steven was born. The Glassers moved to West Hempstead in 1948 and immediately joined Congregation Beth Israel. Their daughter, Lori, was born in 1952. Rose been the following years raising her children, being involved in the Hebrew School, serving on The Board of Education Services, teaching Hebrew and Adult Education, substitute teaching, leading Brownie/Girls and Boy scout troops, and teaching Hebrew in braille and special needs children.
In February 1959, Rose received the call from Dr. Levitas, the principle of the Hebrew School at Temple Beth-El in Bellmore, asking her to fill in for a teacher who was leaving... that call changed her life forever.
Temple Beth-El Religious School became her second home, and the many students she taught, along with their parents, became like family.
She watched these children grow, become Bar and Bat Mitzvah, marry, have children, and, on many occasions, taught their children.
When her husband passed away on March 22, 1986, it was her teaching at Temple Beth-El that helped her through this most difficult period.
After a lifetime of teaching, Rose made the difficult decision to retire in June of 1995.
In 2006, due to health problems, Rose left her beloved home of 58 years to the closer to her daughter.
She became an active member of Temple Judea and Laguna Woods, California, and continued her ties to Congregation Beth Israel as a sustaining member. She became the Religious Chair and member of the board of her new Temple and went to Shul every Shabbat until her death on May 24, 2017.
May Rose be remembered for her intense love of family and education, her passion for her Jewish heritage and her extreme generosity.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her and may her soul be bound in the bundle of life... We’ll be loving you always!
